Dear Lisa: I'm looking for a new purebred puppy. I have heard that it's important to have American Kennel Club papers. Where can I find puppies with these papers and what kind of guarantees come with the papers? Can I assume that they will be healthy puppies from quality parents with good temperaments? —Desperately Seeking Puppies.

Dear Lisa: My seven-year-old yellow lab is beginning to limp on his right rear leg. He doesn't want to put any weight on it. Several years ago, he had surgery on his left knee to fix a ruptured cruciate ligament. Is it possible that the other knee is starting to go as well? —Needing a New Knee

Dear Lisa: We have a five-year-old deaf Bulldog that my daughter adopted when he was 17-months-old from a rescue group. He is very close to my daughter, who taught him sign language. He has been a very good member of our family up until a few months ago. Because my daughter began working longer hours she took him to doggie day care. Shortly thereafter he started to poop in the house and nip at people when they tried to take things away from him. He is a good guy and has never done anything like this before. Why is he starting now? —A Befuddled Bully

Dear Lisa: Now that the weather is getting nice I'm spending more time outdoors with my young puppy. However, all she wants to do is dig in the yard. She digs in different places and is destroying the lawn and garden. What can I do to stop her from this annoying habit? —Testing Terra Firma

Dear Lisa: My Chow Chow just met "Pepe Le Pew." Need I say more? I gave him a bath but he still stinks. I've heard of some other remedies, including a tomato juice bath, but what really works to get rid of the skunk smell from his fur coat? —Puppy's Smelly Belly
